Realme Watch 2 Launched in Malaysia- 12 Day Battery Life, Heart Rate Monitoring, 90 Sports Modes

Smartwatches are trending nowadays and Realme is one of the promising brands. Realme watch 2 was officially announced on 30th April 2021 in Malaysia with improved features and lower prices than the first-generation watch released last year. Here is everything you must know about the Realme Watch 2.  Presently the watch availability for other markets is not confirmed yet.

Realme Watch 2 Price 

The watch is currently available in Malaysia at $55 and its price is expected to be Rs 4000 in India. More details about its availability in other countries are still unknown. In Pakistan its estimated price could be around 10,000 PKR as its predecessor, the Realme Watch 2020 is still costing around 7500 PKR.

Specifications of Realme Watch 2

Watch 2 features a large squarish dial with a 1.4-inch display, 320 by 320 pixels, 323ppi, a brightness of 600 nits, and a button on the right edge. It is built with a glass front, plastic back, and plastic frame. It is available in only black color. Watch 2 supports about 100 watch faces, but customized faces could only be added via OTA update.

The body of this watch is 38 grams in weight that is heavier than the previous version of Realme watch.

This smart wearable can work with Android (version 5 or above) as well as with iOS (iOS 11 and above). It also controls devices such as smart lights, ACs, and other gadgets like Bluetooth speakers, Realme Air buds, and Realme buds Q series. Also, it can connect with Bluetooth v5.

In terms of sensors, the Realme Watch 2 houses three sensors that is a 3-axis accelerometer, a SpO2 monitor, and a PPG heart rate monitor.

This wearable has a water and dust resistant rating of IP68 but as per the company, you must remove this watch while swimming or taking showers.

Realme watch 2 offers a non-removable, larger 315mAh battery fueled with lithium-ion. Its battery works for 12 days with a single charge and could be recharged by the magnetic charger.

As per Realme, Watch 2 has an upgraded professional Photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor that can monitor your heart rate 24 hours and will send you a notification when it senses a higher or lower heart rate than normal. Though we dont have any real test data to confirm the authenticity or reliability of the claim.

Apart from this, Realme wearable monitors’ oxygen saturation (important in this Covid-19 pandemic) and your sleep pattern (light, deep and awake) with its spO2 monitor and sleep monitor respectively.

The Watch 2 also has other smart features like a stopwatch, clock, music control, DND, Hydration Reminder, Camera Control, Sedentary Reminder, and Mediation Assistant.

It offers 90 sports modes such as basketball, boxing, dancing, golf, hiking, indoor cycling, outdoor running, table tennis, and yoga as compared to only 14 modes offered in first-generation. During the workout it tracks total time, calories burnt, steps taken, average pace, and heart rate.


Realme Watch 2 has improved features than its first version. It offers a bigger display and more sports modes thus offering great features at a lower cost. Recently Xiaomi launched Mi Band 6 which can be a direct competitor to Realme Watch 2. Now you have to make a choice that is this smartwatch best to grab?
