OnePlus 9 Pro review – Design and Feel:
The device inspires with its awesome design. In fact, all the devices of OnePlus have an elegant design and feel. Besides this, the OnePlus pro camera module has an amazing setup. Moreover, there are four lenses, a microphone, LED flash, and laser autofocus. Additionally, the device is surrounded by an attractive semi-matte look.
When we talk about display, it is curved and has minimal top and bottom bezels. Besides, The OnePlus pro seems tremendous from the front. And we have observed that it is one step above to iPhone 12 pro and Galaxy S21 Plus. However, the curve is delicate and it doesn’t impede usability with spontaneous touches.
Its size is about 6.4 × 2.9 × 0.34 inches. Additionally, it is a big mobile. However, it weighs just 6.9 ounces. Moreover, the OnePlus 9 Pro is lighter than Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus and iPhone 12 pro. Furthermore, the OnePlus pro is slippery and a little difficult to hold.
OnePlus 9 Pro review – Display:
All the onePlus 9 Pro specifications are good, but the thing I loved the most is its superb display. It is enriched with bright and deep black color. The refresh rate of the display of Oneplus 9 Pro is 120 Hz. When our team observed it in the lab, we observed that the device scores about 119.9% sRGB spectrum in its natural mode. Moreover, 84.9% of the taxing DCI-P3 gamut. Oneplus 9 Pro’s display is at the top because of its 0.2 Delta-E scores.
When we compared it with Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus and iPhone 12 Pro, both scores less than the OnePlus 9 Pro. If you like bright colors then OnePlus 9 Pro is for you. Because when we set the display to Vivid, it scored 0.32 and 208.1% sRGB DCI P3 Color gamuts and Delta-E respectively.
The display has very smooth touch. The company called it super high rate hyper touch. Oneplus claimed that the OnePlus 9 Pro has very low touch latency. It is due to its sextuples speed with whom it communicates with the processor. Overall, It is the best feature for gaming.
OnePlus 9 Pro review – Cameras:
Oneplus has tried a lot to improve its cameras. The main camera of the device is 48MP Sony IMX789. This camera can capture in 12-bit RAW for professionals. Another 50MP ultrawide having an IMX766 sensor. Moreover, the phone has also a freeform lens for the correction of edge distortion.
And in the end, there is a telephoto camera of 8MP. All these cameras work in a crew to form an amazing image. Other specifications include laser autofocus, monochrome sensor, and dual-LED flash.
When we capture images through the OnePlus 9 Pro it shows bright colours like yellow, red, blue, and green. And for closer shots, the OnePlus pro shows cooler images with soft colours. In low light, the onePlus produces an awesome image with more focus. When we talk about the video quality of the OnePlus 9 Pro camera, it shows good results. Similarly, Video quality is about 1080p at 60fps.
The device works remarkably with microphone quality and stabilization. It also performed well with the video quality of 8K at 30fps and 4K at 120fps. Moreover, it supports portrait video, DOL-HDR, focus tracking, and time-lapse on the ultra-wide camera. Overall, the device has a satisfactory image and video quality.
OnePlus 9 Pro review – Software and Performance:
The smartphone ships with Android 11 with oxygen OS 11 on the top. Besides, Oneplus 9 Pro seems like Google’s android version with extra specifications like theming stuff, gestures, and tweaks.
Additionally, oxygen OS is superb in all aspects. The device is equipped with snapdragon 888. In fact, it is the biggest chip we can get on any android phone nowadays.
We have observed that when we do many tasks at the same time, the device doesn’t slow down. Moreover, We tested 3DMark’s unlimited graphics test. Smartphone operated 34.5 frames per second with 5755 scores. Furthermore, the multi-layer cooling system is also present.
It transfers the heat outside making the device comfortable for long timing of usage. Consequently, the OnePlus 9 pro is a phenomenal device for gaming performance.
OnePlus 9 Pro review – Battery life:
The smartphone comes with a 4500mAh battery. We tested the device by letting endlessly reloading the webpages continually on a 5G connection. Then we evaluated that the device runs 10 hours and 40 minutes. During this period, the smart 120Hz was enabled. However, the iPhone 12 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus managed only 9 hours 41 minutes.
Furthermore, the device supports wireless charging of 50W with the OnePlus wireless charger. And through wired charging, it charges 70% in 30 minutes and 100% in 50 minutes. Overall, the OnePlus 9 pro has remarkable battery life.
OnePlus 9 Pro Direct competitors:
As we have compared the device with iPhone 12 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, these are its direct Competitors. But there are many other competitors of the OnePlus 9 Pro. Besides, Motorola Edge plus is a direct competitor of the OnePlus 9 Pro. Both have the same prices however the Motorola edge plus has a more amazing rear camera of 108 MP.

Pros:
The smartphone has an awesome 120 Hz display which makes it appear more beautiful. Additionally, Oneplus 9 Pro cameras are also extraordinary. The device is very attractive due to its elegant design. And it has fantastic software and performance. Besides this, the OnePlus 9 Pro has superb wired and wireless fast charging. And the device has powerful loudspeakers.
Cons:
Oneplus 9 Pro cameras are good but its rear camera is still behind the competition. And the front camera is also outdated. Moreover, the nightscape images are inconsistent. As it has the best display but its curves register accidental touches. Besides this, the morning mist model is very slippery and not easy to hold. Moreover, the Smartphone has no HDR recording and pro video specifications.
The Hasselblad partnership is a marketing gimmick. And most games still locked to 60fps. Oneplus 9 Pro monochrome camera is useless. And the device has worst battery performance than the previous models of OnePlus.
Final Verdict:
OnePlus 9 pro is a great smartphone from the OnePlus series. Although it doesn’t offer a good camera yet it is the best mobile phone overall. Additionally, OnePlus 9 pro rebuilt my affection for Android devices. Its OxygenOS is the sleekest which makes it more attractive. Moreover, Its huge storage with reasonable price also makes it worthy to buy.
Besides this, its gaming experience is also fantastic and it is leading to all other Android devices. The refresh rate of the display also makes it unique. And the $969 starting cost is truly standing for OnePlus series.
It has relatively clean software and great UI which make its performance more extraordinary. Additionally, OnePlus 9 pro cameras including main wide and ultra-wide are again that features make users happy. For games lover, the OnePlus 9 pro is the best smartphone.
But the only thing that is not favorable is the huge price. Because the company is now really into the top rank of the mobiles market. Overall, the smartphone has all the embellishments. And other companies have a lot of work to do to compete with it.
