Tecno Pakistan is launching Camon 17 and 17 Pro on 11 June 2021 in Pakistan. Save the date! It will be a decent phone at an affordable cost. The series was already launched in else part of the World and now is debuting in Pakistan. Tecno Pakistan has high hopes for the launch as their previous launch of Spark 7 Pro saw good sales on the opening event.
The brand is known for low and medium-range phones and puts up decent specs at an affordable price. We tried to contact the marketing manager for some sneak peeks of the handset, however, could not get the required details.
It will be a virtual event on social media platforms which seems to be a norm in Pakistan, these days. Earlier we saw the launch of Infinix Note 10 Pro, then Vivo V1 was launched virtually on the 1st of June, 2021. And now in line is the much-awaited Camon 17 and Camon 17 Pro.
Competition of Camon 17 series
Both the phones would be competing against mid-range market phones. And that competition is tough in the likes of companies like Infinix, Xiaomi, and Vivo. As per the market survey carried out by our representative, People in the major cities of Karachi and Lahore prefer other companies over Tecno. This trust comes in due to the major success of the Xiaomi Note 10 series, the Vivo S series, and Infinix Note 10 series which fall in the same price category.
So Tecno would either have to drop the prices against these sets by keeping the profit margin low or would go for an extensive marketing campaign with renowned social media tech websites and Youtubers in Pakistan.
Earlier for the Spark 7 Pro, Tecno joined hands with YouTubers in Pakistan and we can say that the result was not bad. Let’s see how Tecno overcome this hurdle now, as the competition in the expected price segment of the Camon 17 series is a tough ask.
Interestingly, as of now, all the news is pouring in from Tecno Pakistan Official Facebook page in Pakistan. Tecno hasn’t uploaded any news or teasers on its official website, which seems strange. So marketing seems a low aspect as of now. Moreover, Tech websites in Pakistan are only publishing the specifications of the Camon 17 series, and no build-up to launch event has been made.
It would be interesting to see the build-up of Camon 17 series in Pakistan.

Features of Camon 17 Pro
The specifications of the phone include a 6.8-inch full-HD+ display with a refresh rate of 90 Hz, brightness 500 nits, 82 percent screen-to-body ratio, and 395ppi pixel density Additionally, It measures about 168.89×76.98×8.95 mm, and the phone is power by the MediaTek Helio G95 SoC and supports 8GB RAM with 256GB of storage.
The chipset and RAM available would be able to handle high-end games alongside a decent refresh rate. Although Helio G95 SoC is an old chipset but it still attracts the budget oriented gaming enthusiasts.
Furthermore, the rear camera panel of 17 Pro houses a quad-camera: 64-megapixel main sensor, 8-megapixel wide-angle camera, 2-megapixel bokeh, and 2-megapixel monochrome sensor. But, a 48-megapixel ultra-clear selfie shooter. Additionally, it packs a 5,000mAh battery that supports a 25W fast charger.
There is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and dual speakers on it, This smartphone will run HiOS 7.6 based on Android 11 software in contrast to Tecno Camon 16 series that run on Android 10 software.
Tecno Camon 17
The CAMON 17 runs on HiOS 7.6 based Android 11 software similar to the 17P variant It has a smaller display of 6.6-inch HD+ (720×1,600) with a 90Hz refresh rate, 450nits brightness, screen-to-body-ratio of 90 percent, and 267ppi pixel density, Further, it powers MediaTek Helio G85 SoC and supports 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, on measurement, it is 164.5×76.5×8.95 mm.
Unlike that of the Pro variant, Tecno 17 has a triple rear camera with a 48-megapixel main camera, 2-megapixel bokeh lens, and an AI sensor, and a 16 MP front camera. Also, it packs a 5000mAh battery with an 18 W charger and has a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel.

Talking about connectivity options of all family members are dual-SIM, 4G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack, MicroSD card slot, Also the sensors include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass, and proximity sensor.
Price and Colors
The expected price in Pakistan after launch will be Rs.24,999 for Camon 17, and of Pro will be Rs.27,999, no doubt it will be a budget-friendly phone.
Color options of Camon 17 are Frost Silver, Deep Sea, and Tranquil Green, while Pro is available in California Dream Silver and Malibu Blue colors.
