Huawei has never failed in setting a new trend and making it cool and same is the case with Huawei P30 Pro. Firstly, they got succeeded in setting a dual-camera trendy and then a triple camera setup. Now they have come up with a quad-camera setup. Huawei P30 Pro has the finest camera with an excellent AMOLED screen and stunning color options. Huawei is setting a new cameraphone benchmark in the industry with nice packing and prominent features. Let’s go through its specifications.

Colors and variants

Huawei was the first one to introduce a two-colour gradient and P30 Pro is also available in five stunning colors. Black, pearl white, aurora, amber sunrise, and breathing crystal. The Black one provides a matte surface and the aurora is the signature color and of course the most selling one.

The smartphone is available in three storage variants. Each having 8GB RAM and internal storage of either 128,256 or 512 GB option.

Design and feel

While designing its smartphones, Huawei has stuck to the same tested formula. The footprints of Huawei P30 and P30 Pro are same but one can spot the difference between camera arrangements at the back. The smartphone comes in a dimension of 158*73.4*8.4mm (6.22*2.89*0.33inch).

The device weighs 192 grams. The frame of the device is made up of aluminium and it is having a glass front and glass back of Aluminosilicate glass. Also, the surface of the device is water and dust repellent which is a plus point for its users.


Huawei P30 Pro has an OLED screen and large display of 6.47 inches and the display makes the major portion of the body so that the screen to body ratio is approximately 88.6%. The resolution of the display is 1080*2340 pixels and the pixel density is 399ppi. The auto set brightness of the device is 605 nits and the maximum manual brightness that can be achieved in settings is 570 nits.

There are two color modes of the screen that are Normal and vivid. Each of these is having three sub-modes and they are Default, Warm and cold. Overall the smartphone is having an impressive OLED screen and provides the best user experience.


Huawei has brought the Quad camera setup for the first time. There are four shooters at the back. Three out of four are in one alignment and the fourth one is parallel to these, and below the LED flashlight. The details of all four shooters are as follows;

Huawei P30 Pro contains every photography achievement Huawei has made so far and contains the latest Leica developments as well. Other features of the camera include dual-LED flash, panorama, and HDR.


The smartphone runs on EMUI 10 powered by Android 9.0 (pie platform which is upgradable to Android 10. The chipset of the device is Kirin 980 (7nm). The CPU of the device is made up of Octa-core (2×2.6 GHz Cortex-A76 and 2×1.92 GHz Cortex-A76 and 4×1.8 GHz Cortex-A55). The GPU is of Mali-G76 MP 10.

Software and Performance

Huawei P30 Pro has 8GB RAM and the internal storage of the device is 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. An SD card can be inserted to increase storage and this uses a shared SIM slot. The device has a Li-Po battery of 4200mAh which is non-removable with fast charging and delivers the power of 40W.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, Infrared port, and USB. There is a fingerprint option under the display and a face lock is also available. Other sensors include accelerometer, Gyro, proximity, compass, and color spectrum.


Competitors of Huawei P30 Pro include iPhone 11, Apple iPhone XS, and Samsung Galaxy S20. Apple iPhone 11 has a shorter display and less battery capacity and screen resolution are also less than Huawei P30 Pro. Again iPhone XS has a shorter display but high screen resolution than Huawei P30 Pro. Samsung Galaxy S20 has quite similar features with higher screen resolution and higher price.


Huawei is setting a photographic benchmark while introducing a Quad camera. It excels at everything you would need from a smartphone. Stunning colors, pleasant design, water-resistant display, great battery life, and super-fast charging are all everyone has been looking for.

There are some omissions like selfie camera has fixed-focus and it lacks stereo speakers and 3.5mm audio port but there are many other prominent features that one can compromise on these.
