Former Xiaomi sub-brand POCO released POCO M3 last year in 2020 and sold about millions of phones globally. This time POCO is launching the Pro variant of Poco M3 with the name Poco M3 5G – The first-ever affordable 5G mobile phone from the POCO brand.
Interview with POCO Heads
In an interview with Android Central, Kevin Xiaobo Qiu, the head of POCO global, and Angus Ng, POCO global’s head of product marketing, shared some prime features of the POCO M3 Pro 5G. The exact launch date was not revealed, however, expected is in the 3rd quarter of 2021. This new smartphone is speculated to come as a rebranded Redmi Note 10 5G and is a “sizeable upgrade” over the existing Poco M3. After its launch Company might discontinue the previous POCO X3 phone.
Well, great news for POCO lovers is that this phone will have its unique refreshing design and the company will launch this in the Iconic POCO Yellow color that was observed in POCO M3. Rumors claim that M3 Pro will have Dimensity 700 and it is the first Dimensity powered mobile phone. Also, officials confirmed that the M3 Pro scored 329,072 on AnTuTu benchmarks. The Antutu score is good and we will have to wait and see how the phone will play the best mobile games, that are available in the market.
Angus Ng claimed in a report that: “Based on the performance check and cheap price, this phone will hit the technology market. He further said that he believes this phone will be up to the expectations of tech-lovers”
In addition, Qui added:
“We have two upgrades with this chipset: a boost in performance and 5G connectivity. This gadget is designed for daily users as well as for intensive gamers”.
Additionally, during the interview, POCO executives also claimed that they will add some new features to MIUI for POCO to bring a new interface by the end of 2021 named POCO UI.
Poco M3 Pro 5G-Specifications
Poco M3 Pro 5G comes with numerous features which not only make its appearance attractive but also very comfortable to grab. It will have a 6.50-inch display with a resolution of 1080×2400 pixels. You can expect it to be powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor. The Poco M3 Pro 5G will have Li-Po 5000 mAh, a non-removable battery with 18W fast charging on a USB-C port.
No doubt, the new Poco M3 Pro is not a gaming-specific smartphone but it can run advanced games since it will come with more RAM, fast storage (probably UFS 2.2), and a high refresh rate display. It has all the ingredients to be the best gaming smartphone in a budget category.
Regarding the camera, it will come with a triple camera setup with a primary sensor of 48MP and other sensors to be: 2MP depth, and macro sensors. Alongside, its front camera will be 8MP. Moreover, most probably the phone will house an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, and proximity sensor. This new smartphone will be based on the Android 11, MIUI 12.5 version.

POCO X3 NFC discontinuation
POCO executives stated that after the launch of POCO M3 5G, the POCO X3 smartphone will discontinue. This is because both the mobile phones will have a similar price range. Those who like the performance and features of POCO X3 will love POCO X3 Pro that was launched recently.
